About the Event
Prenatal Pilates is a gentle, yet effective way to maintain strength and deep core muscle integrity during and after pregnancy. Appropriate core strengthening, stretching, and mobility will help expecting mamas to release tight muscles and connect with their body and baby! This class will focus on breath, posture, pelvic floor engagement, and gentle strengthening. At the end of the 2, 4, & 6th class, mamas will be treated to a lecture/workshop on pelvic floor considerations during pregnancy, labour, delivery, and postpartum. Time will be left for individual questions at the end of each lecture. (on the days that Elle Physiotherapy attends, the pilates workout will be 45 minutes, followed by 30-45 minutes with Joelle, pelvic health physiotherapist. Mamas in all stages of pregnancy are welcome and no pilates experience is required. Many modifications will be given for mamas in various stages of pregnancy. Pilates is safe, individualized, low impact exercise. …
