Hope for Pelvic Pain: Movement and Mindfulness
Time & Location
About the Event
Please join us for an intimate seminar series designed especially for women living with persistent pelvic pain. So often, women with pelvic pain suffer in silence and do not receive the appropriate support needed to effectively manage their symptoms. You don't need to feel alone, and you don't need to suffer. There is so much hope and we're looking forward to sharing it with you.
This is our second workshop of this series, but is open to ALL women, even if you weren't able to attend the first. It is intended for women experiencing IC, IBS, bladder pain syndrome, pain with intercourse, persistent low back pain, pudendal neuralgia, vulvodynia, endometriosis or any other persistent pain condition.
Part 2 will be a LIVE online session. This 2 hour workshop will be led by Physiotherapist and PhysioYoga pioneer, Shelly Prosko. Shelly is a well respected international speaker and lecturer on yoga practices, compassion and peristent pain. She has recently co-authored the book "Yoga and Science in Pain Care" and will incorporate her expertise as well as theories learned in seminar 1 to build with you practical skills for managing pelvic pain through movement, breath and mindfulness. This will be a gentle session and consist of mindfulness practices, practices to increase awareness of and connection to the PF, breathing practices, gentle/mindful movement and is suitable for beginners or any level. Ending with relaxation, we invite you to join us for some well deserved self-care. Please have ready a blanket, yoga mat, and any other props you may wish to use. You can learn more about Shelly and access her blog and other therapeutic resources through her website at https://physioyoga.ca/home
We have been wanting to provide this resource in Central Alberta for a very long time, and are so excited to be able to bring you the information, skills, hope and possibility to help you move forward with healing.
Investment is $40. Please share and tell a friend.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
**Please note: Although the practice will be gentle and you will be instructed to go at your own pace and adapt to your specific needs; please note that this session is not intended as treatment nor to act as therapy or medical advice.
