CLINIC UPDATE COVID-19

UPDATE: September 20, 2021

As  per the government of Alberta, the rules in place for health professionals did not change in response to the Government of Alberta’s September 15, 2021, announcements. As such, our clinic will remain open for pelvic health physiotherapy care.  We will continue with many public health measures currently in use in health-care settings - Mandatory masking in the clinic and filling out the pre-screening questionnaire emailed a few hours prior to appointments.  As well our staff will continue with our top notch cleaning/disinfecting procedures in treatment and common areas.  Telehealth appointments are also available if you prefer to stay home or are having symptoms.

We are looking forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

UPDATE: December 8, 2020

We are OPEN as per the government of Alberta recommendations. As allied health professionals, our clinic remains available for clients to receive pelvic health physiotherapy care. We ask that you continue to follow all protocols in place, including mandatory masking in the clinic and filling out the pre-screening questionnaire that will be emailed to you a few hours prior to your appointment.

Our staff continues to follow all high-level cleaning procedures, pre-screening and adjusted scheduling times to allow for decreasing client crossover in the waiting room and disinfecting of all treatment areas and common areas.

We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment!

UPDATE: July 14th, 2020

A message to all of our amazing clients,

As per Premier Kenney’s April 30th re-launch plan address, Physiotherapy Alberta’s new recommendations for practice, and the guidelines set forth by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw, beginning Monday May 4th we are able to resume seeing clients face to face. In order to ensure the health and safety of both our clients and team, Elle Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health will begin seeing clients requiring pelvic health physiotherapy while implementing the following guidelines:

  • Physiotherapists will be wearing masks during the provision of all physical assessment and treatment where physical distancing is not possible. AHS has recommended the use of face masks for ALL Albertans when within 6 feet of each other. Please consider bringing your own, or we'll have masks available should you require one.

  • We will be scheduling clients with a 15 minute post-treatment gap to ensure high-level cleaning and disinfecting of all clinic rooms, treatment beds, bathroom, waiting room and high-contact surface areas between clients and to minimize multiple clients in the clinic at once.

  • There will be hand sanitizing available in the waiting room that we ask all patients to use upon their arrival and again prior to leaving the clinic. There will also be hand sanitizer provided in each treatment room.

  • All patients will be pre-screened via email upon booking, then again 4 hours prior to their appointment to ensure their health and suitability for receiving care. We ask that you please be honest while answering the questions to ensure both your safety and the safety of others.

  • Any client who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 must reschedule their appointment until 14 days after onset of symptoms or until symptoms resolve; whichever is LONGER.

  • Any client who has ANY signs of illness currently or within the last 14 days, including fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath or general malaise must reschedule their appointment.

  • We ask that you remain in your vehicle until your scheduled treatment time to reduce the amount of people in the waiting room. Although we'd love to hang out, thanks for not coming early.

  • Although we understand it’s not always possible, we ask that kiddos (with the exception of nursing babies) be left with a caregiver during your scheduled treatment time. If this is an issue, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate on a case by case basis.

  • We understand that some of our clients have been waiting a long time to resume their treatment, however we still want to limit the amount of traffic through the clinic. As we proceed with your care, your physio may deem that some sessions or services could be carried out effectively via telehealth appointment. We will make these decisions at our discretion and after speaking with you about what that would look like. We ask that you be open to consider this option every now and then if and when your physio advises.

It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen some of you. Trust us, we are excited to resume providing your pelvic health physiotherapy care!  As much as we want to hit the ground running, we will be moving forward slowly, thoughtfully and wisely to ensure the wellbeing of our patients, team and community. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate our way through these changes. We look forward to continuing your care with excellence.

With all our hand-sanitizing, physical-distancing and pelvic-health-supporting love,

The Elle Physio Team
